This is an excerpt from an informational brochure about the benefits of the traditional Atzec sweat lodge. The use of these temezcals (sweat lodges) are being revived for tourists and Mexicans alike. The original text was in Spanish but was given to me as the text written in black. Using both the original Spanish and the translation, my edits are shown in orange.
The CORE Foundation is a Calgary-based non-profit organization that works with communities on sustainable development projects. CORE has a scholarship program, fundraises for the Bwindi Hospital in Uganda, and has long-term engagement projects with a small community in the Dominican Republic. See the full list of projects and programs as well as a newsletter that I produced for CORE.
Also, a portion of proceeds from the sale of my book Just Like I Love You/Así como yo te quiero a ti will go to CORE’s projects.
